We actively encourage and facilitate our students in all their personal sporting pursuits. As individuals and members of teams they have achieved national medals, sports scholarships, professional sports contracts and inter-county call ups, amongst others. Our Mercy College community is very proud of them all. Mercy College Woodford has a strong policy of actively promoting sporting opportunities among all our students. We offer an extensive range of sporting activities from which students can choose from:

This school received a grant in 2021 to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide and support our learners at risk of educational disadvantage as a consequence, as part of the Irish National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) a project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. This funding was used to provide greater access for learners to digital technology, developing students’ digital literacy skills, supporting the CBA process and theLeaving Certificate Vocational Programme.
Summer 2026 saw a significant investment in our school, creating a brand-new Home Economics room. This modern, purpose-built space provides our students with an inspiring environment to develop practical skills, creativity and confidence in the kitchen and beyond. We’re delighted to offer our students a fantastic new facility designed to support and enrich their learning for years to come.
We are delighted to have added a brand-new library to our school, creating a welcoming and inspiring space where students can read, learn, explore and discover. The library provides access to a wide range of books and resources, supporting students across the curriculum while encouraging a lifelong love of reading. It offers a calm environment for independent study, research and reflection, as well as a space where students can broaden their knowledge, develop their literacy skills and discover new interests. This exciting addition is a valuable investment in our students’ learning, wellbeing and future success.
